  • Who is eligible?

    Individuals who are seeking full-time employment and not returning to school.
    CTC provides services to all job seekers who are eligible to work in Canada.

  • What do I need to bring with me?

    Valid SIN, positive attitude, desire to find full-time work.

  • Are you an employment agency?

    NO. We are a pre-employment program funded by Employment Ontario that provides one to one support and small group workshops on developing skills relating to Employment.

  • How long is the program?

    Participants can access our services for a maximum of 16 weeks once registered in the program. The Scarborough location provides 24 weeks of support.  However; participants are able to successfully gain employment within the first few weeks of the program.

  • How soon will I find Employment?

    The length of time required until you secure full-time employment depends on the amount of time you are willing to invest in your job search.  It can take anywhere from a few days, weeks or months.  Although looking for work is a full-time job in itself, CTC offers a joint effort approach to your job search in order to minimize the time required to find employment.

  • Do I have to pay for the services?

    NO, all services are FREE!

  • What services do you provide/how can you help me?

    CTC contacts employers on your behalf in order to help you secure employment.  Prior to meeting with Employers, CTC assists in targeting your resume to desired positions, prepares you for interviews and employment meetings and helps you gain access to other resources including free and new interview clothing and TTC tokens for those who qualify.

  • How do I register for the program?

  • I already have a resume; do I still need to attend the workshops?

    YES.  Feedback from employers indicate that they appreciate candidates that
    come to them well prepared for interviews and have a strong understanding of the world of work.  Our workshops are designed to train you on successfully launching your career.  Our workshops cover topics such as employer expectations, workplace and cultural adaptation, conflict resolution and job retention to name a few.

  • What happens if I miss a scheduled workshop?

    Although our workshops are organized to provide you with a structured approach to job search, we understand that unexpected events can sometimes arise.  If you are unable to attend a scheduled workshop, one of our CTC staff members will arrange a make-up session date with you.  This will ensure that you receive all the tools and information needed to conduct a successful job search.

  • What kinds of jobs do you have available?

    Our experienced Job Developers will work closely with you in order to assist you with finding employment opportunities suited to your working experience, skills and interests.

  • What is the main benefit of the program?

    There are many benefits of the program that are specifically designed to assist you with finding employment.  The group and one to one sessions are also of significant benefit in developing employability skills and increasing your marketability to employers.
